Matt Theriault was introduced to me through my close friend Rob Kosberg, who hosts a podcast sharing tips for writing your first book. Rob's introductions are always to fantastic individuals, and that's exactly what I found in Matt. This episode is all about investing in real estate, so if you're looking to start building your own real estate portfolio, this is the perfect episode for you.

Matt has a remarkable story. He was making millions in his early thirties in the music industry, feeling confident and untouchable. However, the sudden shift in the industry left him jobless and broke at 33 years old, forcing him to take a job as a grocery store bagger just to make ends meet.

It was a colleague who introduced Matt to real estate and he never looked back. He went from filing for bankruptcy to now being financially free, living off the income from his successful real estate business and portfolio. Today, Matt's passion is teaching others how to achieve financial freedom through real estate investing, just like he did.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The basics of real estate investing
  • How to buy property without any cash
  • The proper way to structure a real estate deal
  • Creative financing techniques and how to find off-market deals.

Here's a preview from the episode:

What is Seller Financing?

"Seller financing is when you purchase a property and become the lender, while the seller takes on the role of the bank. As long as you make the payments, the deed will eventually transfer fully to you. However, if you fail to make payments, the seller has the right to foreclose just as a bank would."

Building Wealth

"The conventional approach to building wealth is to work hard every day and accumulate a large sum of money, with the hope that it will eventually generate a passive income stream. However, if you focus on creating the stream first, you can attain financial independence much faster."

Myth Busting

In every episode, I ask my guest to bust a myth. Matt debunks the myth that "it takes money to make money." He believes that it's more about your intellectual currency and relationships that have a greater impact on your success, rather than actual dollars.

On this week's WW Podcast, I was joined by my close friend and renowned health expert, Dr. Elena Villanueva, also known as Dr. V.

Dr. V is a sought-after international speaker and influencer in the health industry. She is the producer and host of several groundbreaking health series, co-author of "The Longevity Code," and has been featured in numerous media outlets and documentaries, including FOX News, MSN, Healthline, Houston Chronicle, and more.

Dr. V and her team specialize in using evidence-based methods to treat the root causes of chronic illnesses and mental health conditions, incorporating a multifaceted approach that addresses unresolved trauma and unprocessed emotions. Her unique approach merges Newtonian and quantum science with a mind-body-spirit integration.

Dr. V is a doctor as well as an entrepreneur.. As so many health practitioners and business owners, she admits she consistently put the business first. She speaks candidly in this episode about her personal experience of running a successful business while ignoring her own health. She shares how her body slowly began to shut down and how she eventually realized that surrendering to take care of her health did not mean failure. And she shares her own realization that as she took more time to play, relax and recover, the business started to do better! Not the other way around.

She explains that stress manifests in our bodies as disease, and that the release of trapped emotions is key to full healing. Dr. V also identifies some common mindset traps that affect our health, such as shame, guilt, fear, and anger, and encourages listeners to ask themselves questions about self-care and prioritization.

Some Q’s she’s posed:

  1. What is stress doing to your body?

  2. Are you hard on yourself?

  3. Are you prioritizing yourself as much as you do others or your biz?

And, since money is my jam – we talk about how money affects health and how few people are willing to invest real dollars into their overall wellness and health span.

Her message is clear: "Pay for your wellness or you will pay for your sickness." Ultimately, Dr. V reminds us to be kind to ourselves and to listen to our bodies, as they will always speak to us.

My guest for this week on the Wealthy Wellthy Podcast is Svetlana Newsome.

Svetlana Newsome's mission is to guide people into a full freedom of their purpose so that they can shine bright and impact many. She is an  energy healer and a spiritual teacher that makes miracles real. Through her courses and retreats around the globe she facilitates deep healing and inspires people to connect to and create their best life. Svet  teaches the path of least resistance which she calls, “the way of the heart.” Thousands of dreams became a reality through her Limitless Creator - The Dreams Course. Today she is one of the most sought after leaders in a spiritual development space.

My conversation with Svetlana was deep yet not “heavy”... During most of our conversation, I  felt as if I was in a trance! She is eloquent in how she speaks and her spiritual and loving energy exudes through her having me feel like a magic spell was waved over me.

There were so many places to take our conversation in the context of spiritual development and connection - but, I wound up wishing to know her thoughts about romantic relationships – and what makes some of them spiritual connections while others not so much.

She calls this the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine and when each partner can connect to their divine self with a desire to connect to their partner spiritually, then the relationship exists at an entire different level.

During this episode, she talks about the different phases men and women go through as they mature... For a brief synopsis: women have 3 stages in life: the girl, the princess, the queen. However, not every woman will reach the “queen” phase. The men have a similar phase: the boy, the prince, the king. Similarly, not all men reach the “king” phase, either. You’re probably wondering, why not?! Well, Svetlana dives deep into the subconscious programming of all of this. The vibrational energy. The worldly influences. Everything!

She even shares her remarkable journey in finding her true soulmate. One of whom she dreamed up, wrote down, and manifested into her life. It’s really quite remarkable...

A couple quotes from Svetlana…

“What’s ‘wrong’ is always available in the world. You can pick it up at any time. What's ‘right?’ YOU have to choose.”

“You are about to become, if you allow yourself to be.”

My guest for this week on the Wealthy Wellthy Podcast is Regan Archibald.

Regan Archibald – a Functional Medicine Practitioner and licensed Acupuncturist –  owns East West Health – a regenerative medicine clinic in Salt Lake City. Regan is best known as one of the leading Peptide Specialists in the nation. And, he’s the author of 8 books including, Never Stop Healing and Your Health Transformation. He’s also the podcast host of the Never Stop Healing podcast.

Because he’s studied many healing methodologies and modalities, Regan brings immense innovation to his patients who are sick and wish to heal, to those who feel off their game and are looking to balance hormones and do a system detox and reset, and to those are are looking to increase their performance and optimize their health and longevity.

Regan named his clinic “East West” as a reflection of the unique healing protocols he brings to medicine. He combines ancient medicine and healing methodologies through his study of acupuncture and herbology with the latest of science including Peptides, bioidentical hormones, technology like PEMF and even new tools like Ketamine to assist in the healing and regenerative journey.

Regan was introduced to me through my good friend, Mike Koenigs. And, crazy enough – it was an introduction that had an element of divine timing … why? Because I'd been having some serious health challenges. I just so happened to mention a few things to Regan when we met for the first time. He said – we need to check into that.

And thank goodness we did. Holy cow. I was far worse than I even realized. And, I feel really lucky that we caught it when we did – otherwise, it could have been bad — really bad.

As a result of doing blood and other lab work, Regan was able to quickly diagnose my root health problem(s). This was after I’d been to several other doctors who continued to treat my symptoms and not even consider the cause of the symptoms I was experiencing  – as a result I was getting sicker and sicker.

In this episode we look under the hood of what’s going on in my body and why I’m having the pain and recurrent symptoms. Although this is a personal diagnostic, you will learn a lot by listening to his live consultation of my situation. Especially how everything in our body is connected and one breakdown leads to the next and to the next – until the situation becomes systemic and at that point, a health crisis. I believe I was moments away from a serious health crisis. All of which could have been avoided had I uncovered the issues early on.

I know many health practitioners (as a function of my work) – Regan is among the best I’ve ever worked with. As a result, I will be teaming up with Regan to offer the same service to my Tribe – as an intention to help you uncover what’s happening in your body – before it becomes a crisis. Be on the lookout for more information to come.

And, if you don’t want to wait until February for my WELLthy retreat, give Regan a call. He can get you started on a healing journey now. Remember, your body is your number one asset. It’s important to invest in it’s overall health (performance) as well as longevity –since we all want to live longer in a health body, mind and spirit!

My guest for this week is Brian Lang.

Brian helps self-employed professional service providers achieve financial freedom.

When providing Outsource CFO Services, Tax Planning, and Personal CFO work he works with real estate Agents & Teams (high-performing), attorneys, architects/designers, digital marketers, consultants, coaches, technology companies.

His philosophy is that your business is the engine to your overall wealth machine. Over time your business should be able to predictably and consistently provide your household the ability to cover the cost of life. It is equally important that a strategy is in place for when $1 of business income is transferred to your personal household. Your personal household must set aside investment dollars. You cannot save yourself to wealth. Wealth is generated from investments. The rich don’t 401k themselves to wealth, and neither should you.

Oh– and he is my business partner in our bookkeeping company!

My guest for episode #251 is my friend Rob Kosberg. Rob is a #1 best selling author, founder of www.BestSellerPublishing.org and has been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and the Wall Street Journal.

Rob has spoken to and taught thousands of entrepreneurs, coaches and consultants how to stop hunting for clients and instead position themselves as the hunted through the power of being a published author.

Through his Publish-Promote-Profit program, Rob helps his clients create their own professional, best selling book (guaranteed) and then teaches them how to use that book to grow their income via speaking engagements, free publicity and lead generation strategies.

Rob used his own best selling book and these strategies to build his last company to over $1,000,000 in income in less than 15 months.

Rob is passionate about helping small businesses reach their target audience via cutting edge marketing.

To start off our conversation, I asked Rob: “When you’re among those who’ve reached a certain level of success— what do YOU see that’s consistent in them?”

What he’s noticed is that the most successful invest in themselves, heavily. The invest their money and their time first in knowledge and networks. And, beyond that, in assets. .

The difference between successful entrepreneurs and everyone else is that we look at money differently. We, as in entrepreneurs, look at money as either an investment or an expense. So, educational courses are indeed an investment!

Here’s a Pro Tip: the next time you are looking to pay for a coach, a conference, or anything, ask: “How much is the investment to work with you? Rather than, “how much does it cost to work with you?” Do you FEEL the difference? I DO!

Rob let us in on what he calls a Massive Cheat Button:

“It is a massive advantage to learn from people that are ahead of you in business.”

In other words, if someone has already been there and done that, then you don’t have to! You get to learn from so many around you.

Always learn from the next master. Period.

The most successful people are always the ones to study MORE! Is that you?

And hey— maybe you’ll finish this episode feeling ready and inspired to write your own story!

Happy writing!

My guest this week is one of my BFFS and greatest inspirations, Mike Koenigs.

He is a Serial Entrepreneur, 13-Time #1 Bestselling Author, Speaker, Interactive Online Personality & Influencer.

I first met Mike (and his beautiful wife, Vivian) on a private island in Turks and Caicos at a Brendon Bruchard mastermind retreat. He had recently been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and was on the island in between chemo treatments. Despite his illness, he was a giving spirit and generously offered me vision and insight for my business that I credit much of my following success to his ability to see in me what I couldn’t see in me at the time.

I bumped into him again years later after I had healed from my illness (that took me down not six months after that mastermind trip) and we exchanged our respective stories of our healing journeys that changed who we were as humans. In other words, we both became different people than the two that were on the island almost a decade ago.

What I didn’t know is that Mike was driven by fear and anxiety. Despite being one of the top leaders and renowned influencers in the digital marketing space, he was afraid that if he didn’t achieve (more) success ASAP, he feared he never would and/or would be left behind.

More often than not, this happens to lots of entrepreneurs (myself included). Mike calls this a ‘hypnosis’ that we can easily get sucked into. Ultimately, Mike and I both believe that our deeply rooted fear of not being good enough and as a result compensating/coping through big success (at all costs) is what caused our sickness.

I’m choosing to release this interview on the celebration of my #250th episode of The Wealthy Wellthy podcast because it’s a reminder of how far we have all come. And, how having priorities out of order comes at a great cost. And, how lucky we both are to have gotten a second chance to get it right – to put relationships first, focus on physical, mental and emotional wellness and do good work out of passion and purpose, not for ego and money.

This is a rich episode. We swap stories that I’m alluding to above. And, he shares more of his story and lessons he’s learned through his entrepreneurial and life journey – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Mike is a multi-millionaire. He earns over a million a year doing the work he now loves. His marriage is better than ever (after coming so close to losing it) and he is not only cancer-free, but feels the best he’s ever felt in his life.

As well as I know Mike as a friend, I am also a client of his. He continues to help me see what I can’t see in my business. I went deep with him in this conversation and as a result – despite knowing him as well as I do both personally and professionally - I still took a full page of notes.

Like I said, I saved this episode as a special tribute to my accomplishment of the #250 episode (less than 10% of all podcasts last beyond 1 year) because it’s one of my favorite interviews to date.

Here are a few gems I captured on my page of notes to give you a taste of what’s inside:

“If you want a miracle, you’ve got to invest like it’s a miracle and SHOW UP like you want a miracle to happen!” – Mike Koenigs

Leave with this question to ask yourself every 30 minutes: “is the thing that I am paying attention to right now, does it matter? Am I giving it all of my quality attention?”

Quit making decisions based on how much money something costs. Make decisions based on paying the money it takes to get the results you want! Boom!

“Simpler and fewer doesn't mean less.”

“The only thing you really have and own is your attention– and where you put it.”

Please enjoy my conversation with my good friend, Mike Koenigs.

My guest this week is Jorge Contreras

Jorge is a Real Estate Investor & Airbnb Coach and is passionate about helping people create time, financial and location freedom with Airbnb and Real Estate Investing. He retired at age 29, became a millionaire by 30, and now earns 7 Figures with his Airbnb Business.

Jorge’s earlier life wasn’t as simple as you may think. From failing 7th grade to graduating high school with 4 F’s and a D, to selling drugs at age 7, and even dropping out of college. It’s safe to say that Jorge Contreras has overcome A LOT.

However, he does not view these hardships as happening TO him… he views them as happening FOR him. What a thought shift! What helped Jorge to grow and expand was having personal mentors. As he was guided day by day from these leaders, he shared that, “personal development is like an onion, where you just keep peeling back the layers, a never ending journey.”

So, his grit led him to taking dance classes, turned to opening a club, which then led to a 50/50 chance of not being able to walk. What a turning point. This was when he learned to not trade time for money.

And more than that, he traded his past limiting beliefs for a new mindset of building a new life for himself. This was also when his spiritual mentor told him he was chosen to break the generational traumas.

WOW.

If you are wanting to feel encouraged and are seeking a change in your life, you will want to listen in.

Discussed in Episode:

  • Cashflow (Airbnb)
  • Marketing Airbnb properties
  • Refreshing your perspective
  • Real Estate Investing
  • Mindset
  • Personal Development
  • Inflation

My guest this week on the Wealthy Wellthy Podcast is Richard Thalheimer.

Richard is the former CEO and original founder of The Sharper Image. He led The Sharper Image to its peak as CEO with annual revenues of $750 million, 200 stores, catalogs, an online store, and 4,000 employees. The company became a public corporation in 1987 when its stock was listed on NASDAQ.

His experience talking to analysts for 20 years as the CEO of The Sharper Image has given him great insight into how Wall Street analysts think, and consequently, when and why investors should confidently follow their judgments.

Richard now runs The Sharper Fund, a successful private fund, and shares his investing wisdom and stock picks through his blog at TheSharperInvestor.com. In June of 2022, he appeared on Fox News and today we are grateful to have him with us today!

Discussed in Episode:

  • Managing your Money & Your Emotions in a Bear Market
  • Will this bear market turn around? When?
  • How to manage your portfolio in a bear market.
  • The psychology and emotions involved in a bear market.
  • Does money buy happiness?

Richard shares his personal story of how he became the man we know today. From his early days selling door-to-door in San Francisco all the way to today where he is a major player in the Tesla stock market.

We reach many angles during this conversation. From entrepreneurship to investing.

And, to bring the two worlds together, Richard found early on that the best way to create cash flow within your  business is to negotiate with your suppliers. He follows up with: “You’ve got to press quickly and take risks when you see something working. And the way you make sure it’s a good risk, is you have enough knowledge and enough experience that you’re sure your idea is a good idea.”

This is what your confidence will be built upon.

He reminds us to always be the first one to do it. The trick is to create something that people don’t even know they need. BOOM.

So, what is that for you?

Hint: You may just get inspired from listening to Richard’s life…happy visualizing!

Psst… BTW, if you enjoy investing like I do, Richard shares his top favorite brands to invest in! “Buy stock that you touch, feel and know.” - Richard T.

My guest this week is Dr. William Hsu. After 20 years of a distinguished career as an endocrinologist at Harvard’s Joslin Diabetes Center, Dr. William Hsu joined L-Nutra in 2019 as Chief Medical Officer. In this role, Dr. Hsu leads the clinical development effort at L-Nutra, oversees the Medical Affairs Department, and advances the education and adoption of fasting and Fasting Mimicking Diet as an innovative tool to extend human healthspan.

Among his prior roles, he served as Vice President at Joslin Diabetes Center, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, responsible for its international education and healthcare advisory programs. He served on multiple national-level professional committees, including the American Diabetes Association, setting national standards of medical care in diabetes. His previous research interests focused on the pathophysiology of diabetes and the application of digital technology in chronic care.

Dr. Hsu went to Cornell University for college and received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Yale School of Medicine and completed his fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Harvard Medical School. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Topics Mentioned:

  • Changes in the function of hormones, cells, and genes
  • Reduction of insulin resistance, lowering the risk for type 2 diabetes and helping to reverse it
  • Reduces oxidative stress and inflammation in the body
  • Promotes heart health by improving blood pressure, blood triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol
  • Induces cellular repair throughout the entire body
  • Promotes brain health by reducing oxidative stress and brain inflammation
  • Prevents neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases

Dr. Hsu gives us the backstory and knowledge we need to better understand the sacred mechanism of fasting.

Did you know that around 5-6am is when all the stress hormones surges? This is when the adrenal glands really begin to kick in.

When reasonably applying fasting, there is major rejuvenation going on within the body.

As Dr. Hsu says: “If we were to reduce or take away the source of calories for a period of time, the body is in this crisis moment, so it taps inside and goes to the fats– the central fats– it asks itself: ‘what can I get rid of?’ And when that fasting period passes, when the nutrients come, now the body can form new parts to rejuvenate new cells.”

Fast. Re-eat. Fast. Re-eat. These are the cycles of fasting and the cells way of remaining youthful…longer! I think we all want that ;)

Fun fact: Fasting affects every cell in the body– including brain cells!

After 5 days of prolonged fasting, people experience 4 levels of changes…

  1. Midsection weight loss (this fat is a source).
  2. Your body finds fasting as stress. So this is a stress that sharpens your mind & preserves your muscles.
  3. You feel better! Clarity of the mind. Focused.
  4. You feel a sense of achievement.
  5. Your cells are rejuvenated

Dr. Hsu’s pro tip? Repeat this 3x a year!

To be your healthiest yet, Dr. Hsu has provided a code! You can use “wealthywellthy” for 15% for ProLon on ProLonFMD.com or ProLonFast.com.

My guest this week is Alessia Minkus. Alessia is a multi-award winning entrepreneur that has started and run 9 of her own 7 & 8 figure companies over the last 20 years generating a total of $500M in revenue.

During the past 10 years she has traveled the world speaking on global stages and organizing thousands of events for her own global business training company Industry Rockstar. Her leadership and scaling systems have impacted over 3 Million business owners online and offline and she has personally mentored thousands of entrepreneurs privately setting them up with a 7 & 8 figure strategy.

As a speaker she is often invited to present at private and corporate events on the topics of leadership, revenue expansion and business scaling strategies.
During the last few years she has partnered and/or shared the stage with icons like Sir Richard Branson, Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Lisa Nichols, Randy Zuckerberg, Kevin Harrington and more.

Fun Fact: Alessia was born and raised in Italy. And– born into a family of entrepreneurs! How lucky ;)

Well… that is until she turned the other way. There was a period in time where Alessia ironically despised the business life because of the extreme measures that her parents took when it came to running their business.

Now, I am sure she is not alone in this. Think back to a time when you were privileged to be around something so impactful, yet it was so extreme, that you ran the total opposite direction. The beauty in this journey is that we GET to change that narrative. And my friend, Alessia, has done just that.

Now, her transformation was not done overnight. There was a season of her life that she knew she had to make a change.

She dared to ask: What am I doing wrong?

And, can I just say, Alessia and I are a match made in heaven! I know you will love her as much as I do… Join us in the conversation to hear all about Alessia Minkus.

My guests this week are a Power Couple, and also serial entrepreneurs with a passion for bringing new products to market. With over $300M in revenue creation, current focus is on improving sleep with the Chilisleep and sleep.me platform. Please meet Todd and Tara Youngblood.

Let's Chat...

Are you an avid nap-taker? Depending on your body type, you might be! If you are, Todd + Tara share that it is best to take a nap after lunch because your chronotype is dropping your core body temperature, which is what is facilitating that.

There are different levels of rest… even different levels of napping! It is important to really examine your schedule and then manage your sleep to get what you need. You need 2 hours of REM sleep and then 2 hours of deep sleep. Be thoughtful with YOUR life!

Ask yourself: what’s NOT working? Because then you can gain awareness, clarity, and therefore change. Let’s overcome these obstacles!

“Overcoming the next obstacle is what successful entrepreneurs do…” – Todd

"Pressure produces results." – Todd

Topics Discussed in Episode:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Raising outside capital
  • Start up
  • Positive impact of delayed gratification

Scott discovered a fascinating, little known, yet legal way to find out what stocks billion dollar fund managers are buying and selling. What You Will Learn:

• What investment mistakes have you made and what did you learn?
• What are the most common investing mistakes people make?
• How do you know when to BUY stocks?
• How do you know when to SELL stocks?
• How can you invest with more confidence?
• How do you identify investment trends before they make their big gains?

Quotes:

“Retirement is one strategy but wealth is a different category of strategy… but it isn't about retirement, it's really about freedom…”

“You have to have a thirst for knowledge.”

“It’s not always about KNOWING how to solve it— rather, knowing WHO you know that can solve it…”

My guest this week is Ron Macklin. Ron is a friend I have known for about 15 years and counting! Ron realized early in his engineering career that he had a passion for building and leading teams. And he realized that to succeed, he needed to build a deep network of support. He needed to learn why people connect and how they create results together. This realization led him on a 30-year journey that culminated in the creation of the 7-step Macklin Method and the launch of MacklinConnection.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will only learn when you go out and do it! Make mistakes and learn from that. It is okay to not understand something at first.
  • A skill Ron had to build was to discover his space and create his own world… and then to celebrate that!
  •  Vulnerability is powerful. Drop your shield, be vulnerable, and connect!
  •  Finding your “Mood” is crucial in making the best of each moment.
  •  The more successful people are, ironically, the more open they are to talk about their fears.
  • When we talk about our fears, we take the power away from them!!
  •  Know what your vision is… what is it? Once you tackle this, then you know who you want around you. You attract those people! Also remember that people are human and they will mess up from time to time. Remain flexible. Remain open. And learn.
  • Believe in everyone.

My guest this week is Michael Chu.

I was recently introduced to Michael and can’t believe I’ve gone so much of life without knowing him. He’s what I call “good people” and he just so happens to be a biz genius.

That’s why I knew I needed to get him on the Wealthy Wellthy Podcast.

To put it simply, Michael helps 6-7 fig businesses find an extra $250k-1M+ in backend revenue with their LTV Method. He is the creator and founder of Champion Development Inc., the premier coaching and support program for executives, fit pros, and entrepreneurs .

There's honestly nothing simple about that!

The Questions...
1. How can I learn from someone who is making good money, keeping in good shape, and being actually happy?

2. Do you feel like you want to give up? —> Get clear on what that feeling is and let it become your biggest teacher!

3. What is a good life?

4. What is a “win” for you, specifically?

5. Do successful people become happy or do happy people become successful?
6. What am I ACTUALLY committed to?

What You Will Learn:
- Go after what you really love and enjoy
- Learn how to love the process — always focus on being a little bit better everyday
- Often times are biggest complaint is our biggest mission
- Knowing when enough is enough
- The most successful people learn to ask themselves “and” questions— not “or” questions
- The “Remember When” Exercises:
Ask yourself, ‘remember when…’ and then speak of the PRESENT as if it were the PAST.
Example: “remember when I was nervous about these new clients?
—> the frame of “remember when” as if you’ve already worked through it allows your nervous system to lighten up and breathe!

The Questions...

  • What makes you different from everyone else?
  • What do I need to resolve?
  • What do I want my life to look like?
  • What habits are serving me? What habits are not?

What You Will Learn:

  • You GET to decide what your life looks like today
  • What are you committing to yourself today?
  • How you can use your pain to be fuel for motivation
  • Success is based off of who you are — not what you have
  • It's your habits that will make you sales; it’s your habits that will make you great

My guest this week is Mike "C-Roc" Ciorrocco., and he is the Co-Founder of the innovative tech platform blooprinted, the powerhouse behind the "What Are You Made Of?" podcast, and the best-selling author of ROCKET FUEL Convert Setbacks. Become Unstoppable.

He is a performance coach, author, dynamic public speaker, tech visionary and thought leader.

He has been featured by Yahoo! Finance as one of the Top Business Leaders to Follow in 2020 and is on a mission to build unstoppable people. He is consumed with the passion to help people break free from the confines of complacency and propel to untapped levels of success.

Mike is a perfect example of creating beauty out of destruction.

From his rough childhood (or, “broken”, as he says it) Mike was surrounded by chaos and disruption. Yet, he did not let this become him. In fact, even at the young age of 8, he already understood that there is a different path in life and he was determined to take the path of LIFE, and not death…literally.

Mike sets such a valuable example for not only his kids, but for everyone around him, and what an honor it was to get to share his light on this platform for you to hear for yourself.

You know it’s going to be a life-changing episode when it starts off with: “A lot of people do a lot of thinking first, and then they plan a lot. And showing up and taking action gets you to failure faster. We need failure!” Stated by the one and only, Mike “C-Roc”.

Mike asked me a question I’ve never been asked before… he asked: Do you feel like you’ve “made it” yet?

So, now I will ask you the same. Do you feel like YOU’VE made it yet?

Next big Q…

Which direction are you going?

First, realize this: We have 3 keepers: fear, ego, judgment

  • These are put into our life to help us survive— but don’t let them run your show!
  • When they run the show, they hold you back.

What's your mission? —> if you don’t have a mission, you subconsciously go back to your keepers!

Are you in a condition, or a “mood” you don’t like? You can fix it! You can cause a NEW one! It’s a shift in perspective. This is self-awareness on a new level.

Dive into this episode to rediscover yourself. You will feel totally unstoppable.

My guest this week is John Howard. John is an internationally-recognized therapist, wellness expert, and educator who uses the latest science to help couples have stronger relationships. He is the host of The John Howard Show, a wellness podcast, and the creator of the Ready Set Love® series of neuroscience-based online programs for couples.

In this episode, we share our own stories and I get more vulnerable than usual– and that is telling of how supportive John is as a friend.

Throughout his life, John has devoted his time to discovering the depths of healthy, whole relationships. This led him to realize the difference of Good Relationships and Good Intentions. This goes as follows…

Good relationship skills vs good intentions = two VERY different things!

They’re different skill sets. And this is where John can help you out :-)

So— to better understand all of this, I laid it ALL out on the table… I just dealt with a recent breakup and John so graciously offered his sound and professional advice.

This led us to talk about attachment styles– and let’s be real, we all could benefit from understanding this ;-)

John’s Tips:

  • Do not tamper yourself down! Do not minimize your power.
  • Make sure your friend relationships and other relationships are as healthy as possible
  • Don’t tolerate BS
  • Set proper boundaries
  • Hold people accountable for treating you well
  • Expect kindness and care
  • Place yourself in the healthiest of environments & communities
  • Vet people for emotional intelligence
  • Share your feelings and see how people deal with that — scan for EQ!
  • Be with someone who is equally prepared to grow
